This product started from a pretty simple moment at home. I was just trying to do laundry when Mika decided that was the perfect time to demand attention — scratching my legs, tugging on my sleeves, and trying everything she could to convince me it was time to play. Like many dog owners know, sometimes toys alone aren’t enough to keep an energetic dog busy. That’s when the idea for our DCL K-9 Treat Smear was born. By mixing our freeze-dried topper powder with a small amount of water, it creates a smooth, spreadable paste that can be applied to enrichment toys, lick mats, or inside Kong toys. After refining the recipe using the same simple ingredients as our treats, we created a clean alternative to many store-bought spreads that rely on heavy oils, artificial flavors, or processed fillers. Our Treat Smear is designed to provide dogs with a rewarding, long-lasting enrichment activity while keeping ingredients simple and easy on their digestive system. Just add water, mix, and spread.
